Jeffersonian Dinner Discussion: Tech Innovation & Social Change
February 2, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
If you haven’t heard of the concept of “Jeffersonian Dinner,” it is an event in which we will have a single, focused conversation as a group instead of multiple small talks.
The theme of this discussion will be on how technological advances can magnify (and perhaps hinder) our abilities to make social change in our local and global communities. The increasing popularity of the Internet of Things, big data, and augmented reality enables us to imagine completely new ways of understanding and influencing our surroundings. The easily accessible technologies such as social media, 3D printing, and website publishing allow us to tackle social challenges in innovative and effective ways.
However, how exactly can we leverage new technologies for social good? This discussion will bring together tech-savvy individuals and passionate changemakers to share their knowledge, collaborate, and imagine new possibilities.
Come join us if:
- You are into new technologies whether by interests or by profession and want to extend your knowledge into applications for social good
- You are interested in discovering technological solutions to the social challenges that you are working on or hoping to address
- You are passionate about social change and want to be part of an enlightening and informative conversation
Free parking spots reserved for Open Book guests.
Look for a Meetup sign on the table.
You are welcome to have dinner, coffee, or just water with us.
You are encouraged to join us on time, but you are welcome to join anytime between 6 and 7:30 pm.
